About Peyronie's Disease
Injuries or traumas to the penis can lead to the formation of fibrous scar tissue, which may lead to the development of Peyronie's disease. Characterized by a penis that is curved or bent when erect, Peyronie's disease can get worse over time leading to problematic symptoms. More commonly seen in middle-aged or older men, Peyronie’s disease can cause severe pain, embarrassment, stress, anxiety, decreased sexual satisfaction, and erectile dysfunction (ED). At The Colorado Center for Health and Longevity in Greenwood Village, board-certified physician Dr. Ian Levenson offers diagnosis and treatment options for Peyronie’s disease, which in turn might improve or eliminate problems with erectile dysfunction.

"Simply put Dr. Levenson is the BEST! His over the top knowledge when it comes to medicine and diagnosing an illness is second to none. His availability is second to none and his ability to prescribe a solution to an illness is second to none. He has helped heal ALL four of my kids, my wife and myself more than once. Just last week I was struck with a case of vertigo in the middle of a parking lot. I had no idea what had hit me. I called Doc L and within in two rings he picked up. Over the phone, yes over the phone he accurately diagnosed the problem, and had me go to hospital where the ER Doc came to same conclusion Doc L came to over the phone. He truly saved my life. His physicals are in depth, giving us the confidence to keep on living actively. There is no one better than Doc Levenson when it comes to taking care of the health of my family and me!"- T.M. / Google / Sep 18, 2019

"Dr. Levenson is so amazing! He does my Botox, filler, oh shot, and prescribed me my skin routine. Can I just tell you this man transformed my life! Lol. In 2011 I had broken my upper jaw that forced my teeth back (I know horrific) and as a result my top lip lost a lot of volume. When I finally got the courage to do filler..(I was scared because I didn’t want to look fake) Dr. Levinson WOULD NEVER make anyone look over done. I feel like I got my beauty back after feeling very insecure from the trauma I experienced from my accident. As far as the oh shot, can I just say... I have spent YEARS in bladder pain. Chronic, constant bladder pain. I got so used to it... I didn’t know what it felt like to not have my bladder “on” 24/7. That’s not an exaggeration. I told Dr. L this and he said let’s try the oh shot for you to help regenerate that tissue around the urethra. Well can I tell you after YEARS of dealing with this I have had such an amazing reduction that I can enjoy normal activities like the gym, the movies, meditation class. All those things suffered because my life revolves around trickling urine. I don’t have leakage anymore, I don’t get up constantly in the night. I used to get up to use the restroom 3-5 times a night. It WAS AWFUL. I feel like a normal human being again!!!!!!! Oh, also I used to have horrible acne in my teens and 20s and now at 33 I feel and look healthier & younger than I did then!!!!"- J.C. / Google / Jul 21, 2019
"They are the best. Literally no other doctor I would see!"- C.O. / Google / Oct 18, 2017
Peyronie's Disease Causes
Scientists have not conclusively determined a single cause of Peyronie's disease. However, most doctors believe that it is caused by fibrous plaque that develops after trauma to the penis. Some of these injuries may be small enough that they go unnoticed, but as the plaque builds up over time, the erect penis becomes curved rather than straight. This is why Peyronie's disease is more common in men over the age of 55 years old, although it can occur in younger men. Other possible causes of Peyronie's disease are genetics and a connective tissue disorder, like Dupuytren's contracture.
Peyronie's Disease Symptoms
The most obvious symptom of Peyronie's disease is a penis that is bent or arched when it is erect. The curve may become worse over time or cause pain. Other symptoms include problems achieving or holding an erection (erectile dysfunction) and the penis becoming shorter. Peyronie's disease often causes stress or anxiety in men over the appearance of their penis and decreased sexual satisfaction. You should be open with Dr. Levenson about all your symptoms and concerns during your consultation so he can properly diagnosis and treat your condition.
Peyronie's Disease Treatment Options
After diagnosis with a physical exam, Dr. Levenson can discuss your treatment options for Peyronie's disease. At The Colorado Center for Health and Longevity, Dr. Levenson offers platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and GAINSWave therapy as nonsurgical options to treat Peyronie's disease. PRP therapy for the penis, also known as the P-Shot, uses healing factors in your own blood to both reduce scar tissue and increase blood flow to the penis. GAINSWave uses high-frequency acoustic waves to remove micro-plaque, open existing blood vessels in the penis, and stimulate the growth of new blood vessels. One or both of the treatments may be part of the custom treatment plan Dr. Levenson develops to treat your erectile dysfunction (ED) and other symptoms of Peyronie's disease.
